need for making your own kite are: cord, glue, a sheet or piece
of strong paper of 102cm x 102cm, and two wooden sticks, one of
102 cm and the other of 90cm. With these materials, you could
make a nice, basic kite which you could easily make fly by choosing
the right place and appropriate wind conditions.
How to make a kite: some guidelines
Once you have the materials, you should start by tying the two
sticks together in form of a cross. After that, you should make
notches at the ends of the sticks; these notches will be were
the cord will by through. Then stretch cord around the kite frame
by making it pass by the edges of the sticks and making a loop
at the last edge in order to fasten it.
How to make a kite: last steps
Once you have the sticks in cross shape and the cord around it,
you should follow by cutting sail material or strong sheets in
the shape framed by the cords, with a few cm more than needed,
in such a way that you can fold the edges over the cord and glue
them. Then, you should tie a string passing it through the upper
and lower loop, fastening them with another small cord where the
two sticks intersect, making a loop to which the flying line will
be attached.
