The importance of a kite line
Kite line: the importance
A kite line is a very important factor a kitesurfer or kiteboarder
should consider at the time of buying or using equipment. Factors
such as the speed and safety the kiteboarder will experience would
depend on the type, and especially the length of the kite line
he chooses.
Kite line: choosing
Choosing the length of the kite line is an important step a kiteboarder
should not underestimate. The length of kite lines should be chosen
according to the knowledge and experience level of the kiteboarder,
and in case of not being sure of which one to chose, especially
in the case of beginners, they should ask a professional for guidance.
Kite line: different lengths
Shorter kite lines are usually much safer than the longer ones.
This way, it is usually recommended that beginners and inexperienced
kiteboarders start by using short kite lines instead than longer
ones. Shorter kite lines reduce the power of the kite by shortening
the distance in which this power can travel. Besides this, short
kite lines allow easier maneuvering, being this an extra pro for
them to be the most appropriate for beginner kiteboarders.
Kite line: multiple lengths
Often, kites can be bought with a set of kite lines of different
lengths. In other cases, the kiteboarder would still be able to
buy additional kite lines of different lengths which could be,
for example, of 17 meters, 20 meters, 22 meters, 25 meters, 27
meters, or 30 meters.
