Cabarete, Dominican Republic is the Mecca for kite surfing spot in the Dominican Republic. It has been well known by Windsurfers for years, but now kite surfing is carrying an immense amount of tourism to this beautiful island full of wind and waves. The constant trade winds and glassy reef breaks attract people from all over the world to pursue their wildest dreams in the ocean on a paradise island like the Dominican Republic.
Kite Surfing in the Dominican has brought new life in the last five years like any one has ever seen before. For many it is no longer a well kept secret, but a “must visit” when you are planning a trip to the Caribbean for kite surfing. This is a World cup destination for kite surfing world cup championships.

Cabarete, Dominican Republic has been chosen to be one of the best areas in the world for kite surfing. Extensive sandy beaches, a variety of conditions to kite in and obviously because of its quick flights, accessible accommodations and “same travel day” kite surfing.

The beach where kite surfing takes place is located mainly in the North Eastern part of the Dominican Republic.

Trade winds provide a constant wind speed of 15 to 20 mph between June and the beginning of September.

Big kite provides a list of activities to do when you are on vacation for kite surfing and for the entire family as well when there is wind and no wind conditions.
 
Down Wind exploring, wave riding and new trick clinics with instructional support are just a part of the fun in your vacation package.
The kite surfing equipment provided by Big Kite is the latest on the market by one of the leading manufacturers.
Top of the line kite equipment is necessary when it comes to traveling to remote areas of the Caribbean for kite surfing. Relying on your kite equipment during Down winders and wave riding is priceless.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Rentals: We carry a selection of freestyle and wave kites to choose from. Also, our wide selection of boards gives you a different kiting option every day: waves, down winders or freestyle. During the months of June through the beginning of September the kite sizes mostly used are 9mts to 12mts for any one that weighs 180lbs or less.
For a kite surfer over 180lbs the ideal kite size would be a 10mts to 13mts.

Repairs: Even if you are on vacations, fixing your kite will not be a problem. We can repair your kite at our repair rate of $60/hr.

Lessons: We can provide you with beginner, intermediate or advanced Lessons for additional fees.  Gear rental is included in lessons.

Introductory Kite Surfing Lesson: $175.00
This course is designed for you to feel kite boarding at first hand and experience the beauty of flying, controlling and piloting a real life kite surf. A Big Kite certified instructor, will run you through all the basics of learning the fundamentals of becoming a kite surfer. In this course, you will learn to assemble, launch, land and control an inflatable kite under power.

Full Kite Surfing course: $300.00
If you wish to discover all the beauty and incredible feeling of being a kite surfer, then, it will be necessary for you to take this course. In addition, this course is designed to be divided into two sections. The first half of this course will run you through an intense first flight lesson. This will include: rigging, launching, landing and controlling a kite under power. By the end of the second half of the half day course, you will be under control of an inflatable kite and will be experiencing the incredible feeling of riding on a kite board through the waves!

Each additional Private Hour: $80.00
